The founder of Vine&Olives

My name is Olsi Kulla, and food has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Athens, surrounded by the flavors and traditions of Greek cuisine, and from a young age I knew that cooking was never just a job — it was a way of life — it was a way to share love and culture.

For the past six years, I’ve lived in Norway, working as a head chef in several restaurants across Oslo. While I’ve learned a lot and grown as a chef, I often found myself missing the flavors of home — the simple, authentic dishes I grew up with.

For many years, I dreamed of opening a restaurant that could bring those flavors, and the warmth of Greek hospitality, to Oslo. With Vine & Olives, I want to give the city something it has been missing: an authentic Greek restaurant that respects tradition while elevating it with a modern touch.

I know many Norwegians love Greece as a travel destination, and my hope is that when you visit Vine & Olives, you’ll feel like a little piece of Greece has arrived here in Bygdøy allé.

From Greece to Oslo

Vine & Olives was born from a lifelong love of Greek cuisine and culture. For me, food has always been a way to connect with people and share traditions. Growing up in Greece shaped my passion, and when I later moved to Norway, I noticed something missing in Oslo’s food scene: a restaurant that could capture not only the authentic flavors of Greece, but also the feeling of being there.

Our vision with Vine & Olives is to bring more than food to the table. We want to share the warmth, hospitality, and atmosphere that make Greek dining so special. Anyone who has traveled to Greece knows the joy of gathering around a table — dipping bread into olive oil, enjoying fresh dishes with friends and family, and feeling completely at home. That is the spirit we want to recreate here in Oslo.

At Vine & Olives, tradition meets modern dining. Inspired by timeless Greek recipes, we give each dish a refined touch to create something unique for the Oslo dining scene. Every plate is made with fresh ingredients, respect for authenticity, and a passion for quality. Whether you come for a cozy dinner, a glass of wine, or a celebration with friends, we want you to feel as though you’ve stepped into Greece — without leaving the city.

What began as a personal dream has now become reality. Oslo has many fantastic places to eat, but an authentic Greek restaurant has long been missing. With Vine & Olives, I am proud to finally share a piece of Greece with the city I now call home.
